What it's all about
This one-day wellness retreat is an invitation to women living with diabetes, to experience the sweetness that arises when we take some time for ourselves to share our stories and our struggles with other women who also understand the challenges of what it is like to live with a chronic disease.
If you are a woman living with diabetes, treat yourself to a day filled with joy and connection. Take a day to slow down and gather with other women around an outdoor fire, while we get out of our heads and connect from our hearts through art, mindfulness, and movement in nature. Sometimes a bit of time away with others who really ‘get it’ can make a big difference. It allows us to reset and reminds us about the importance of taking care of ourselves and our bodies and how this benefits our overall health.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided throughout the day and a nutritious lunch will be prepared over the fire to replenish our bodies.
What to bring: Wear comfortable, warm clothing and footwear as we will be spending our time outdoors. Please bring a camping chair, a yoga mat, reusable water bottle and a blanket for meditation. Yoga mats will be provided for anyone who does not have one.
COVID: We will adhere to public health unit recommendations as your safety and wellbeing is important to us. If COVID restricts us from gathering in person your deposit will be refunded in full.
